LGBTQIA+

I identify as a cis female (she/her/hers) and have been a professional Ally for 15 years providing services for LGBTQIA+ populations.

I recognize the importance of positive psychology as a way to celebrate our differences, identify individual strengths and promote healing as a core component of the therapeutic relationship.

In addition to providing LGBTQIA+ individuals with a safe and welcoming space, I also provide their families and loved ones with education and support. Assisting families and other loved ones is vital, and can even be life-saving, for those who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, and all other individuals that encompass gender and sexual identities.

Below is an abbreviated list of what is addressed in the therapeutic process:

  • Exploration of Self (isn't that true for all therapy?)

  • Support for every individual's unique coming out process

  • Support throughout transitioning - whatever that journey looks like to you

  • Address any mental health diagnosis and teach skills necessary to ameliorate psychic discomfort
